About La Familia-Namaste

Thank you for visiting our website to find out more about how we accomplish our Mission of “Empowering Children and Families to Build Positive and Lasting Relationships”. We work continuously to “Become New Mexico’s Premier Provider of Trauma Informed Child and Family Services”. La Familia-Namaste is a nonprofit social service agency. We are licensed by the State of New Mexico as a Child Placement Agency to provide Adoption (international, domestic, infant, and special needs) and Treatment Foster Care, which provides children with severe emotional disturbance, a community based treatment service. We provide outpatient counseling services which include: Equine Assisted Therapy as well as play therapy, sand tray therapy, attachment therapy, drama therapy, family therapy, and sexual maladaptive behavior therapy. We provide therapy services in several Charter Schools in the Albuquerque Area.

We also provide a Post-Adoption Clinical program for families experiencing challenges following adoption. We provide Statewide Post-Adoption services through our NM FIESTA Project which is funded through a contract with the NM Children, Youth and Families Department. Through another contract with CYFD we provide Home Study services in Region I and Region IV. In our Gallup, NM office we provide Juvenile Community Corrections to adjudicated youth in McKinley County. This program is funded with General Fund Dollars through CYFD.

We strive to deliver all of our services with integrity, professionalism and respect for individual and cultural diversity. La Familia-Namaste began serving the people of New Mexico as a non-profit organization in 1987. The merger in 2012 with Namaste Child and Family Development Center allowed us to serve children and families in seven cities and the surrounding area: Albuquerque, Farmington, Gallup, Las Vegas, Los Lunas, Santa Fe, and Taos. The expansion of our agency reflects our response to the needs of New Mexico residents as well as our commitment to help children and family live successfully in their family and in their community.
