Welcome to the Tapestries Project Website. The goal of this site is to increase the availability of information about multicultural families and transracial adoption. Transracially adopting parents must be aware that in addition to bringing a child into their home, they are changing the lives of the child, their families and their communities. We have developed an Interactive Online Training Program to help families recognize their strengths, identify weaknesses and build support systems. The program covers important issues such as Motivation and Assessment, Building a Multicultural Environment, Grooming and Medical Needs, Ethnic Identity Development and Support Systems.
