| Emotional Support
The La Familia Pregnancy Counseling Services program is designed
to assist you in evaluating your situation, looking at alternatives,
and making a choice that you feel is in the best interest
of both you and your child. La Familia believes that this
decision is your choice and no one should pressure you to
do something you do not want to do. Options Counseling
The La Familia caseworker will meet with you regularly
to discuss your concerns. The caseworker will keep you informed
about available resources and options if you decide to parent.
If you decide to plan for an adoption, your worker will discuss
the adoption process with you. We feel that counseling will help you adjust to and understand
the wide variety of emotions you may have during this time.
La Familia believes that you have several options to explore.
Your worker will discuss abortion; adoption, parenting and
family care with you during the counseling process. Regardless of your decision, you will be provided with referrals
to help you follow through with the plan you have created.
Counseling is also available to members of your family and
the birth father's family. If you feel uncomfortable with
La Familia's counseling involvement with the birth father
or his family, he will be referred to another provider. Recommended Reading
