| Treatment Foster Care
Treatment Foster Care is a foster family-based treatment
program that trains, reimburses and supervises families who
provide treatment homes for children and adolescents. La Familia
serves children and youth whose special needs cannot be met
in their own families. La Familia treatment parents care for
youth with serious emotional and behavioral problems. Treatment
foster care is an alternative to institutionalization for
these youth. Developed in consultation with nationally recognized
programs, La Familia's approach and funding is unique, and
is now a model for similar programs around the country. Treatment Philosophy
La Familia's treatment foster care program's goal is to help
seriously emotionally disturbed children live successfully
in families and communities. La Familia provides comprehensive
behavioral health treatment through a treatment team in order
to meet this goal. La Familia provides expert, experienced
staff whose purpose is to assist the treatment family in meeting
the children and adolescent's treatment needs. We advocate
whenever possible to reunite these children with their families
of origin and provide the services necessary to meet this
goal. La Familia places a very high value on services that
are family-focused and culturally responsive. Our services
are rooted in current clinical research, with specific emphasis
on child development, attachment and relationship-based interventions,
and the biological bases of behavior. Click on the links to the right for more information.
