“Imagine a New Mexico...where every child is healthy, safe and thriving
and where all children develop to their potential...where all children are
nurtured, getting what they need, as they require...where all children grow
into adults who are able to make positive contributions to family, community
and the nation.” |

students worked on a part time basis. The DGH initiated a
transition program for two of our students from the DGH to
apartment living on a part-time basis working towards fulltime
independence.
The DGH director attended conferences/meetings on
behalf of La Familia’s DGH in Arizona and California during
the past year to promote our program. Southwest Services
for the Deaf maintains a website which links to La Familia’s
to market our DGH program. Each month the DGH runs
a monthly advertisement marketing the DGH in the Deaf Digest, an on-line periodical.
The Deaf Group Home has participated in numerous activities
throughout the year. Some of the activities the students
attended were: NM School for the Deaf ball games;
UNM football and basketball games; the Scorpion’s hockey; participation in city league softball and basketball; hiking;
exercising and swimming at the community centers and
going to the public library.
The DGH was re-certified by CYFD and the State Board

the requirements for accreditation from the Council of
