TREATMENT FOSTER CARE (CONTINUED FROM PAGE 3)
after they are discharged home. La Familia is currently working with 5 biological families in the Family Stabilization Program. The Family Stabilization Program is extending this same support to State Foster Families who need additional training and guidance. The foster parents in these cases have children placed in their homes who are identified as having special needs. With additional support and services these state foster parent will, hopefully, be able to manage the placement thus preventing a move for the child to a higher level of care. The Family Stabilization
program utilizes experienced treatment parents in order to provide some of the direct services in the home.
The TLS program is a mentoring program for adolescents aging out of the TFC/Foster Care system.  Through specially trained families and a supported living situation La Familia prepares these youth for emancipation. We have 10 families currently trained in order to provide this service and three youths actively participating in the program.
