Text Box: 2002 Annual Report
Text Box: I am pleased to share our 2001-2002 Annual Report with you. I hope it will give you an idea of how La Familia fulfills its mission to help people improve their quality of life. Our staff works every day in a confidential, professional and compassionate way to help children, adults and families achieve improvement in their quality of life. Our clients are often the most needy in our community.
Children who have been abused and neglected and are in need of a stable, safe home, come to our Treatment Foster Care program to be nurtured and to grow into healthier youngsters. Children and families come to our counseling and case management programs from every walk of life seeking help to improve their lives. Whether it is to obtain help in finding the necessities of life: food, clothing, health care, and housing or to have help in improving their self esteem or dealing with depression and anxiety; La Familia is able to help. We help couples become families by building their family through adoption. We bring families and babies together, both domestically and internationally. We also build families through our Adopt New Mexico program, uniting families with children who are in New Mexico’s foster care program. In Adult Services, we become the family for adults who are impaired and can no longer care for themselves. We care for them as we would our own family and support them through the end of life. The compassion and skills of all our staff, in all our programs, is unequaled anywhere.
In 2002, La Familia continued to grow. Our programs touched more than a thousand lives. Our staff grew from 45 to 55 full time staff and 4 part time staff. Services are provided by 40 independent contractors ...cont.p2
