Thank you for visiting our website to find out more about how we accomplish our mission of “Helping Children Experience the Joy of Healing and Family.” We work continuously to become the Gold Standard for Children’s Services in NM. La Familia is a non-profit social service agency. We are licensed by the State of New Mexico to provide adoption, (international, infant and domestic), and treatment foster care. We provide out-patient counseling services which include: Equine Assisted Psychotherapy as well as play therapy, sand tray therapy, attachment therapy, drama therapy, family therapy and sexual maladaptive behavior therapy. We provide school based social work services in several Charter Schools in the Albuquerque area. We provide a Post Adoption Clinical Program for families experiencing challenges following adoption and we provide statewide post adoption services through our NM FIESTA project which is funded through a contract with the NM Children, Youth and Families Department. We strive to deliver all of our services with integrity, professionalism and respect for individual and cultural diversity.

La Familia began serving the people of New Mexico as a non-profit organization in 1987. The expansion of our agency reflects our response to the needs of New Mexico residents as well as our commitment to help children and families live successfully in NM communities.

Our normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time. We have an on-call professional available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
